EarlyLifeandTraining

ThecrowningachievementofSecretariat'scareercamein1973whenhewontheTripleCrown,becomingonlytheninthhorseinhistorytodoso.IntheKentuckyDerby,herantheraceofhislife,pullingaheadinthehomestretchtowinbytwoandahalflengths.Twoweekslater,hewonthePreaknessStakesbytwoandahalflengths,beforecappingoffhisincrediblerunwitha31-lengthvictoryintheBelmontStakes,settinganewworldrecordintheprocess.
