UnexpectedConnections

Itwasasunnydayinthepark,andmyfriendsandIwereplayingvolleyball.Suddenly,wewerejoinedbyastrangerwhoaskedifhecouldjoinourgame.Atfirst,wewerehesitant,butwedecidedtotakeachanceonhim.Asweplayed,welearnedthathewasanexchangestudentfromBrazilandlovedplayingvolleyball.Weendedupspendingthewholedayplayinggamesandtalkingaboutourdifferentcultures.Heturnedouttobeanexcellentplayerandanevenbetterfriend.Westillkeepintouch,andwhenIvisitBrazil,IknowIwillhaveafriendtoshowmearound.

AChanceEncounter

IwasrushingtogettomyjobinterviewwhenIbumpedintoanelderlywoman.Shewascarryingaheavybag,andIimmediatelyofferedtohelpher.Aswewalked,wechatted,andIlearnedthatshehadbeenwidowedforayearandwasfeelinglonely.Weexchangedphonenumbers,andIpromisedtovisitheraftermyinterview.Aftermysuccessfulinterview,Iwenttoherhouse,wherewespenthoursdrinkingteaandtalking.Herstoriesaboutherlifewerefascinating,andIendedupfeelinglikeIhadknownherforever.Westillmeetregularly,andI'mgratefulforourchanceencounter.

ALife-ChangingMeeting

IwastravelingtoaremotevillageinIndiatovolunteerataschool.Ontheplane,amansatnexttomeandstartedtalkingabouthiswork.Itturnedoutheworkedforacharity,whichbuiltschoolsinremoteareas.Wehadalongconversation,andIfoundoutmoreabouthisorganization.AfterIfinishedmyvolunteeringprogram,Idecidedtogoandvisitsomeoftheschoolsbuiltbyhisorganization.Theexperiencewaslife-changing,andIlearnedsomuchabouttheimportanceofeducationandtheimpactithasonpeople'slives.IfIhadn'tencounteredthatmanontheplane,Iwouldneverhavehadthatexperience.

Encounteringnewpeoplecanbebothexhilaratingandscary,butitisalwaysworthtakingthechance.Youneverknowwhenachancemeetingcouldturnintoanunexpectedconnection,achanceencounteroralife-changingmoment.So,thenexttimeyouencounterastranger,takeachanceandseewhereittakesyou.
